Here seems to be a catalog of their current sets: https://indd.adobe.com/view/1881b5e5-34ee-4e7c-8b19-2f25b314...

They have en e-shop (although quite poorly translated) and it looks like they are shipping within EU to US and to some other countries: https://eshop.merkurtoys.cz/

(I am not affiliated just used to like these things as a kid)

Just use Everything (https://www.voidtools.com/), so much better than Windows Search.

The latest version supports searching file contents now, though it's slow because the contents isn't indexed.

my favorite FOSS goto for searching contents in Windows is AstroGrep - https://astrogrep.sourceforge.net

It doesn’t seem to index either, though?

I normally use Notepad++’s Find in Files feature, which covers most cases, and also supports replacing.

yes, but soon there will be many people who don't understand the technology happily using new shiny tools built on top of it.

Knowing how the technology works won't be of any help if someone uses a false ChatGPT generated statement about you as a fact that can have real-life consequences.

I usually try to refrain from posting negative comments, but start of that product video was a bit annoying to watch. Are you trying to showcase your product or to make an animation fitting a cool song you just found? (Maybe it is intentional, it made me post this comment after all :).

We have tried many videos. Our team has full discretion (the way to do it) so I wasn't involved directly.

AFAIK the purpose is to excite the target users (marketing managers, operations, business managers) to the potential. We have done other videos with other stories.

Your point is that we should be more intentional in the story? slower? How would you approach a video about a spreadsheet?

> I am missing something, right?

right.

Try clicking links in the menu. Although I admit that link labeled "fortune files" leading to a definition of what fortune files are rather than to the fortune files themselves is a bit misleading.

Huh, I am now officially too damn logical and not brave enough. I saw them and thought, that is a menu for the site, not the actual jar files, why would I click on them?

I did not know cat-v was such a curator of fortunes. I like this one but I modded it (and fixed spelling of retrieval. Ok, I did not, Firefox did)

using ubuntu is like deciding you want your computer to be run by the [Ministry of Information Retrieval] in the movie Brazil -- kfx

I mean if I'm at the point of having to monkeypatch the explorer executable, I might as well not use Windows...

I try to understand "intellectual curiosity" here but I just find it very off-putting to bet on whether millions will die, no matter how sound the arguments of both sides might be.

The winner of the bet does not profit personally, so it's not really a bet. They use the term "bet" because it's easy for people to understand. And it makes it more interesting than alternatives like "prediction & rebuttal".

Long Bets and the Long Now Foundation try to get people thinking about the future so we can make it better.

Even if it is just used as a figure of speech: "I bet that millions will die in next 4 years" crosses the line for me. But I guess it's just me.

FYI, this: https://github.com/SAP/styleguides/blob/master/clean-abap/Cl... exists and is slowly being adopted for new code. But everything takes time.
