Fun Fact. Lee Kuan Yew was a computer scientist before becoming politican and coded solving sudoku and shared his code over github also mentioned he wanted to learn haskell. Looks like computer scientists would make great politican's once elected but getting elected requires a different set of skills, luckily for Lee Kuan his father paved the way before him.
> Fun Fact. Lee Kuan Yew was a computer scientist before becoming politican
No, he wasn't. He was a lawyer with an undergraduate degree in economics. The closest that gets to being true is that his son, Lee Hsien Long, got a B.A. in Mathematics and Diploma (essentially an M.S.) in Computer Science before getting a Master of Public Administration. His work history immediately after getting the CS degree was as a military officer with a meteoric career path which appears to have been in field command and operations and general staff positions; he does not appear to ever have been a working computer scientist.

That generalization goes far beyond what the single example you seem to rely on would support even if it were accurately described.
India has a similar situation. All the south Indian states are demanding to be declared as separate nation. One of the Singapore's official language is Tamil whose origin is an south Indian state TamilNadu. Singapore is taken as a motivation to demand a separate nation.
You did not say it explicitly but your comment hints that indian devs are below mediocre. I will share my perspective as a native guy. My experience is 15 years in dev(mostly c++) experience worked in 6 different companies and have taken up contract gigs in erlang and android(writing ejabberd extensions). Infosys, wipro, tcs and other service based companies have really below mediocre dev's. But other than that the enterprise org's such as emc square, oracle, hp etc have dev's from mediocre to good. The Big Four company dev's (especially amazon) are definitely above mediocre. One observation is while working at enterprise org's i have never seen any 10x people(like the admiration type) on the US or European companies. Only read peoples blog posts. So it seems the 10x people only exist at Big Four or they move there quickly before.
Now bash and anything using readline will use vi key bindings. This Just Works for most of the common cli tools, e.g. the python shell and psql, but there are exceptions. In the past, the mysql client hasn't respected these settings, and there's also a node library called vorpal that is reinventing readline, poorly and for no obvious reason.
Intelligent and hardworking but still don't want to take responsibilities of raising children as it takes too much time. Then sperm donation looks like a nice option.
Some years ago in one of RMS interviews he told the seller should not remain private but the buyers privacy must be protected. So his views has never changed.
