Burning man livestream here, still early and setting up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BgytKvsORM

Page says it's on "Chomolungma" but it's "Ceiba" on the maps, just in case you can spot the phone on the stream.

Looks like the link has changed from when you posted - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cYltJN7n6NQ

Thanks for the report. Fixed.

I figured out where the bad street name came from; it's apparently a Google AI Search hallucination. It's apparently what I get for not clicking through to read the relevant page on Burning Man's site.

Relatable path here. Fairchild Channel F, the cat chased the pixels around the Bell and Howell console screen. Hid the 2600 box in the garage rafters from my mom to cover up the purchase. My dad made an 2600 controller using big industrial panel pushbuttons for the directions and a sturdy red clicky button, trying for a good Defender controller but panel buttons were just not meant for fast gameplay.

I read the Paranoia, Send in the Clones and numerous other supplements back-to-back as a kid and Warren Spector became a notable name for me. Writing and humor felt a lot like Douglas Adams lite, and made the prospects of living in a underground apocalyptic dystopia really hilarious. As someone mentioned, his CV is stellar; you could almost compare him to Kubrick or maybe Guillermo del Toro at the least.

People were still replacing their 14.4k modems with 28.8s in 1996. I remember seeing the Quake 15 x 1.44 zips on local BBSes, which would've taken at least 3.5 hours over a perfect 14.4 connection so definitely a daunting phone line tie-up for the average kid (I had the CD.)

Gary Coleman and Mary Carey both ran. There's always Vermin Supreme.

Some of the photosynthesis zoom-ins have overlays take a bit longer to load at higher resolution.

I remember when we gave a shit about "emoluments."

This. VPNs are an absolute necessity for torrenting pirate content from public trackers, otherwise you're sure to get a Cease & Desist letter mailed to the house and risk getting your parents' internet disconnected. I know it's a "kids guide," but more emphasis should be made on VPN basics, such as binding the VPN port to torrent client.
