Yes, now that's a reasoned though on how AI will affect us, but fortunately - the AI is not 'doing our thinking for us' any more that 'calculators did', and, that's not going to stop us from using AI.

People not using AI will be about as useful as those refusing to use e-mail or computers.

AI may replace some cognitive activity, it also required cognitive intelligence to use 'slide rules' - which have been replaced and we have not looked bad.

It's not a bad rhetorical question - but it's moot in the face of the question of 'should we use it or not'.

But they got so deep in pushing llm’s their competitors came in and offered their customers what they wanted - the customers don’t care how you produce it. They want the thing to that leaves them in the best economical state. And this llm mania is gonna cause many firms to forget this and go down paths they will later regret.

Because your clothes and paint do not need security updates, since they do not talk to the internet. Your mattress cannot be made part of a botnet.

The newest OS that is fully jailbreakable on a sufficiently-modern arm64e device is 16.5.1 (go back a few models to the iPhone X and the current Dopamine beta works up to 16.7.15). There is also a "semi-jailbreak" called nathanlr, which is less full featured and works up to iOS 17.0 on iPhone 15 and prior. There's also TrollStore which isn't a jailbreak, but allows unlimited sideloading with arbitrary entitlements. This tool only functions on the following versions of iOS: 14.0 beta 2 - 16.6.1, 16.7 RC (20H18), 17.0

These OS versions are getting long in the tooth, and apps are already starting to drop support for them.
