I think the fear is that the people in charge may be too gung-ho about AI and go do something like this, rather than saying that LLMs will spontaneously develop some kind of data analytics power.

Fortunately, Claude won't fit in a van!

Technically a claude model can fit in a pocket size hard drive

Surprising they didn't clean that from the data before training. It's easy to identify, a simple search->replace gets most of it, and a cheap LLM can identify the edge cases (e.g. avoiding "Claude Shannon" -> "Kimi Shannon" or something).

How many tokens would it cost to write some library functions to fill in the gaps?

You could try solving that in Lean perhaps

Who, exactly, should help people host a website?

Best case: themselves. Since we are not there yet, reliable services.

So the post-introductory price is set such that Sonnet 5 will cost 100%-135% as much?

Correct. Albeit the nuance here is that a more capable model might solve problems more efficiently and faster, possibly saving you tokens.

As with any new model, you won't know the real impact until you start using it for your workload.

Sonnet 4.6 is ahead of Opus 4.7? Hm.

The guy is genuinely worried for his future. I see nothing shameful or narcissistic about that, and I don't think it makes sense for you to wish him any harm.

He/She is literally talking putting food on the table and yet you are interpreting it as superiority complex. I am not sure if we are even reading the same comment here.

Also, competition in itself not bad. It does mess people's livelihoods when competition is sudden and massive - he/she mentioned 5x increase in competition in 6 months. That is too much, too fast, it is not easy navigating/surviving it

Most people work to survive, not for the sheer joy of delivering value to company stakeholders.

then work on something else.

How about no

Then stop whining or suffer in silence

Yes, they certainly should have taken one of the many other jobs that are widely available right now.

After Meta you can get a job at any normal org pretty easily. After Meta’s “AI department “ doubly so.

Who can afford to use this damn thing though? They're pricing everyone out of the market with stuff like this.
