If Lunduke is calling something a conspiracy theory, it probably isn’t. This guy has been playing for a right wing grifting gig but he’s just too unlikable.

The screenshots are real, if you have evidence that DHH is somehow a fascist post it here.

Like his actual words against the Roma? I don’t know about fascist but he’s definitely a self-identifying fucking racist.

He wanted them deported for camping permanently in public spaces? If you think people have no choice to do that based on their race we both know who the racist is.

Is there already a law against camping in public spaces? Apply that law. Any treatment of groups other than according to the law (when the law itself makes no mention of a discriminating attribute) is racism/sexism/etc. One law for all right?

Are you under the impression that I am the co-founder of GNOME?

I was speaking to the conspiracy theory here, that the donations to Omarchy are just a passthrough to unsavory organizations.

It’s, at least, plausible to me for two reasons.

1. Omarchy is just a pre-configured Arch install and doesn’t require large donations for maintenance.

2. The donators (Lutke and Dell) are all Trump-adjacent or have expressed authoritarian views in the past. Lutke, for example, advocates stripping poor people of the right to vote and giving the rich more votes.

> Are you under the impression that I am the co-founder of GNOME?

no. Nothing I have said would indicate that. You wrote:

> If Lunduke is calling something a conspiracy theory, it probably isn’t.

Hence asking if you have any evidence that DHH is a fascist. You then started talking about someone else.

The conspiracy isn’t that DHH is a fascist.

He has dehumanized minorities and alluded to using violence against them. I’m not interested in debating whether or not that’s fascist or not. It’s shitty behavior indicative of the modern far right.

The conspiracy theory is that these donations aren’t tech related but are dressed up to be. And that I find plausible given the behaviors of the modern right.

This guy loves inflation.

It wouldn’t just monetize the national debt. By inflating away his own debts he might actually become a billionaire.

Garry Tan's dream coming true.

To drive that home, Alan Keyes got to 27% by

- running against a charismatic Obama

- being a last minute insert when Jack Ryan was caught in a sex scandal (who was already fighting an uphill battle with sharing a last name with the corrupt former governor)

- being a carpetbagger (he didn't live in Illinois at any point until running for senate)

- running as a hard-line social conservative in a state where the GOP is torn between appealing to suburban Chicago fiscal conservatives and downstate Illinois social conservatives

And also being a person of colour, which is tough in the "hard-line social conservative" lane, where that is often a negative with those voters. Against another person of colour, who could pick up the other voters for whom it is a positive.

And the crazy.

It’s really not. This place is full of people that never grew past the simplistic ideas of Ron Paul that they fell in love with twenty years ago.

It may have been the AI CEOs bragging that they’re going to take everyone’s job away.

Maybe one day, Silicon Valley will learn that their insufferable arrogance is not a virtue for everyone outside of their bubble.

You can see this as an American thing if you want... but you might look at the rest of the world to ask whether you're trying to convince the world to un-invent gunpowder.

If China gave superior paid offerings we might just start transferring all our data over to them instead. Anyways, have we considered building our compute infrastructure in China's backyard instead?

I’m not asking anyone to do anything.

I’m saying the AI industry created their own problems by thinking the general population would eat their shit with a smile like their sycophants do.

For a bunch of people that considered themselves smarter and better than the general populous, they don’t understand people very well.

All your comments are just China China China China China.

AI as envisioned by billionaires is pretty stupid. I think we'd be better off if we tricked China into building it.

I see the China China China China China account is an alt of the Fable Fable Fable Fable Fable account.

Have you tried Fable yet? It's amazing!

HN doesn’t like when you ask for those.

Remember, this is the propaganda arm of a VC. Proof is a hindrance to the hype that drives value.

Given the level of involvement the Heritage Foundation has in the current administration, I think you're absolutely wrong.

HN is full of that one guy that was fired from Google because he thought the AI was sentient.

I always get that guy mixed up with the "Google hates straight white men" guy

And the owner class has already trotted out the old Red Scare “If you don’t like datacenters, you’re just doing what China wants” bullshit has a defense.

I mean it's absolutely true that China is loving the American AI backlash and is fueling it.

How purposely they are doing this is unclear, but they have the motive and means.

Let your biggest rival shoot themselves in the foot over the most important technology potentially ever, is a great strategy.
